Brussels, the capital of Belgium, is one of the smallest yet most charming cities in Europe. The principal seat of the Belgian Royal Family, the city has retained its small, easy-going charm and most attractions are within easy walking distance due to the diminutive stature of the city.
Despite its size, the city boasts a clutch of world-class museums and art galleries, and it is here, not other popular Belgian cities, where you will get a feel for authentic Belgian life and café culture. Try traditional moules-frites in one of the many cafés dotted around the city, or simply walk through the city and admire the beautiful art nouveau architecture.
