What began in 2018 with a ban of more than 60 types of single-use plastics in our offices quickly expanded into part of a much larger initiative. In 2019, we stopped selling plastic water bottles on our coaches and now encourage guests to fill reusable water bottles. To-date we've diverted over 200,000 plastic headsets from landfill through a recycle and reuse program.

We aim to ensure that our fleet is as efficient and eco-friendly as possible. As we don't own our own coaches, we aren't tied down to older vehicles that pollute the air and damage the environment. This means we can regularly update and refresh our fleet and guarantee they are compliant with the highest European emission standards. We recently launched our first fully electric zero-emission motor coach that will be used on select London tours.

Evan Evans is committed to using 100% recycled paper for the body stock of all of our brochures. Across The Travel Corporation Family of Brands, we save approximately 37,100 trees per year through using recycled paper, and contribute to a significant reduction of waste being deposited into landfills.

In 2021, to outline how we will address our emissions as a business, we developed a 5-point Climate Action Plan, committing us to Measure, Reduce, Remove, Offset, and Evolve. We believe in backing big, bold ideas that prioritize nature-based carbon solutions and support biodiversity.

Since the launch of our strategy HWTR, global action on the world’s response to climate change has continued to advance, and our commitment to evolve has enabled us to match that advancement. The most significant change we’ve made since the launch of our plan is our decision to commit to net zero.

In the next step of our journey to net zero, our parent company The Travel Corporation (TTC) has formally committed to carbon reduction targets that are aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). These targets are currently under review by the SBTi and will be announced later this year. Science-based targets ensure we play our part in reducing our emissions in line with keeping the global temperature below a warming of 1.5° C by mid-century.

This will require bold and ambitious action across our business, and as a member of TTC’s family of brands, we, along with our sister brands, have immense opportunity for impact. TTC’s Scope 1 + 2 target will tackle the emissions from owned ground transport fleet, Uniworld ships, Red Carnation Hotels, as well as our shared global offices and facilities. Our shared Scope 3 target will address our indirect emissions including trip emissions.

To travel is to learn; it is to support the people we meet along the way. And that is precisely what MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experiences do.

What they are: MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experiences are conscious travel experiences chosen with great care based on the positive social or environmental impact they have both on their communities, and on those who experience them: you. Identify these experiences across our trips by locating the MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience seal. How they’re chosen: There’s no guess work here. We use a proprietary e-assessment tool, endorsed by industry experts and developed exclusively for us, to measure experiences against a robust set of criteria in order to be a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience.

Equity and Inclusion (DEI)

Using this set of criteria, we identify exactly how each experience advances at least one UN Global Goal while accounting for the enriching educational component on behalf of the traveler.

Evan Evans Diversity, DEI journey started many years ago, and in 2021 we launched our DEI Strategy and formalized specific and actionable goals across three core business functions: People and Culture, Travel Experiences, and Marketing and Communications. Learn more at:
