TTC Publishes its 2024 Impact Report
Evan Evans Tours, as part of The Travel Corporation (TTC), continues to make significant strides in sustainability through our "How We Tread Right" (HWTR) strategy.
Our 2024 Impact Report showcases our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint, enhancing community engagement, and promoting responsible tourism. The report outlines progress against the group’s five-year sustainability strategy How We Tread Right (HWTR), which was launched in September 2020 and features 11 measurable goals developed to advance TTC’s commitment to MAKE TRAVEL MATTER®.

Planet
Advancing Towards Net Zero
Our goal to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 remains steadfast. In 2024, we achieved:
- A 23% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions and a 20% reduction in Scope 3 emissions from our 2019 baseline.
- An investment of USD 353,307 in decarbonization projects via our industry-first Carbon Fund, totalling over USD 2.23 million since its inception in 2023.
Electrifying Our Fleet
Evan Evans added two new fully-electric coaches to our fleet in 2024. These vehicles now operate 17% of our total trips, saving almost 50 tonnes of CO₂e. Additionally, we introduced a fourth fully-electric, Harry Potter-themed double-decker bus, enhancing our sustainable and immersive sightseeing experiences in London.
Sustainable Rail Travel
In 2024, we expanded our rail offerings:
- Brendan Vacations introduced two new Rail Vacations.
- Evan Evans launched five new rail itineraries.
- Contiki introduced a new rail itinerary.
Furthermore, Adventure World, Contiki, and Costsaver removed flights from over five itineraries, opting for rail or coach alternatives where suitable.
Renewable Energy Milestone
We are proud to announce that 100% of our electricity use now comes from renewable sources. This achievement aligns with our goal to source 50% of electricity from renewable sources by 2025, which we have surpassed ahead of schedule.
Food Waste Reduction
Our efforts to reduce food waste have yielded significant results:
- Over 100,000 kg of food waste saved across Uniworld and Contiki.
- A 41% reduction in food waste across 11 Uniworld ships, equating to 185,417 meals saved.
- Contiki saved the equivalent of 5,224 meals.
Embracing Local and Organic Foods
We have increased our use of local and organic food products:
- Radical Travel uses six local suppliers at its properties.
- Contiki uses 11 local suppliers and six organic suppliers at its properties.
- Uniworld uses 26 local suppliers and five organic suppliers across their ships.
Additionally, 84% of itineraries across TTC touring brands offered at least one Local Dining Experience per itinerary.
Reducing Printed Materials
Our commitment to digital transformation has led to an 82% reduction in printed brochures from our 2019 baseline. Evan Evans specifically achieved a 75% reduction, contributing to our sustainability goals.
Eliminating Single-Use Plastics
We continue to eliminate unnecessary single-use plastics (SUPs) from our operations:
- TTC Tour Brands and AAT Kings redirected funds from branded merchandise to donations supporting nature-based solutions through our "No More Stuff" initiative.
- Contiki installed 20L water tanks in hotels and coaches in Asia to provide clean drinking water, reducing the need for plastic bottles.
- Adventure World's Travel with Purpose Charter encourages suppliers to reduce or eliminate SUPs on trips.
- Brendan Vacations implemented a Sustainable Procurement Policy to remove or replace SUP products from its office.
