St Paul's Cathedral sits on Ludgate Hill - one of the three ancient hills of London, and the highest point in the City of London. A place of worship dedicated to Saint Paul has stood on this site for more than 1,400 years; however, the present Cathedral as we know it today was built during the 17th century and designed by esteemed British architect Sir Christopher Wren as part of a major rebuilding programme after the Great Fire of London. This incredible Cathedral towered over London for over 250 years as the tallest building in the entire city until well into the 20th century. You will go behind locked doors to explore the Triforium area, as well as the stone gallery and the golden gallery with the experts guide. Please note that the Whispering gallery is temporarily closed until further notice.
