What’s on in London August 2017

How’s your calendar looking for the next month?

It’s summer here in London. The streets are bustling with colour and evenings are filled with the sounds of music drifting out from the beer gardens. It feels like there’s an event on every afternoon.

If there’re any gaps in your schedule, we’ve got you covered. Only the coolest events make it onto our list, so I hope you’re looking forward to it. This is what’s on in London during August 2017.

Notting Hill Carnival – 27th to 28th August

Let’s cut right to the big event of the summer – Notting Hill Carnival. This world-famous street festival is Europe’s biggest and is barely a step down from Rio’s own. For two days at the end of August the streets between Notting Hill Gate and Westbourne Park will come alive with music, food, and dancing. Expect nothing less than the most flamboyant performers and a wild time.

London Craft Beer Festival – 4th to 8th August

Instead of dancing, the streets of Hoxton will be overflowing with beer this month. Breweries and micro-breweries from around the world will be flooding in to the city to showcase their best brews at the London Craft Beer festival. With over 45 companies on display you’ll be sure to discover new flavours that will blow your mind.

Camden Fringe festival – 31st July to 27th August

Not to be upstaged by Edinburgh, Camden is hosting it’s own performing arts festival this month. See once-in-a-lifetime comedy performances alongside poetry, dance, opera, music and even mentalism. If you’re on the lookout for a truly unique experience in the midst of one of the most buzzing alternative scenes in the world, this one is for you.

Alice’s Adventures Underground – now until the 23rd September

Did you know that deep under Waterloo station is a series of tunnels hidden away from the world above? Once used by transport crews, this amazing space has been transformed into a unique and fascinating arts space the likes of which London has never seen before. It’s here that Les Enfants Terrible hold their magical, award-winning adventure down the rabbit hole to wonderland. Honestly, though, the less you know about this before you go, the better. Just go. You won’t regret it.

The Beast – August 25th to 27th

If jumping, diving, and tumbling your way through a giant, 272-meter inflatable bouncy obstacle course doesn’t sound like fun to you then it’s time to reassess your priorities in life. The Beast is an entire experience in itself, with street food vendors and prosecco on tap. You’ll have everything you need for a hilarious morning as you watch your friends bumble their way through.

Madame Tussauds after dark – Friday 25th August

Every visitor to London wants to check out Madame Tussauds, but few of them ever get to experience it like this. Explore the legendary wax works with a glass of prosecco in hand with no queues. This is an adults-only event will have you meeting King Kong, the Alien Xenomorph, and all the celebrities you’d expect from this legendary attraction.
