Nowadays, suits are incredibly diverse in design. British tailors take inspiration from overseas, and vice versa. However, one quintessentially British suit style feature is the drape, which essentially gives you a more muscular appearance than suits from other nationalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drape suits first appeared in Britain during the 1930s, with drape referring to how the jacket is cut (it\u2019s commonly known as the London Cut<\/em>). Features such as a slightly nipped waist, extra fabric in the armscye and shoulder, and sleeves tapered at the waist create a \u2018V\u2019 figure, giving the illusion of broad shoulders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
