Today, Lacock is very much a preserved village; a modern-day time capsule where visitors will struggle to find structures in the main village built later than the 18th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Little wonder then that this picturesque, quintessential English village, often mooted as the birthplace of photography, is frequently used as a backdrop for TV and film productions. Perhaps most famously, several of the <a href=\"https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/tours\/london-tours\/harry-potter-studio-tour-london\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Harry Potter <\/em>movies<\/a> were filmed here, including <em>The Philosophers Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, The Half Blood Prince,<\/em> and, most recently, <em>Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s take a tour around this fascinating village and explore some of the places used during <a href=\"https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/tours\/london-tours\/harry-potter-studio-tour-london\/\">filming for <em>Harry Potter<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Harry Potter&#8217;s Parents&#8217; House<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/camelkw\/11172521116\/\" title=\"Harry Potter House, Lacock, England\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/3779\/11172521116_0329c5283c_b.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" alt=\"Harry Potter House, Lacock, England\"><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>During a scene in <em>The Philosopher&#8217;s Stone<\/em>, Hagrid and Harry are sitting in <em>The Leaky Cauldron. <\/em>Hagrid explains to Harry what happened to his parents, and we see a flashback scene involving Voldemort. He enters the house using magic and kills Harry&#8217;s parents, leaving baby Harry behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WcvFn5NDOO0?start=55\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Horace Slughorn&#8217;s Hideaway<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the beginning of <em>The Half-Blood Prince<\/em>, we see Horace Slughorn hiding out in this house away from the Death Eaters, who have been trying to recruit him for over a year. He explains that the house belongs to Muggles who are on holiday, and he never stays anywhere for more than a week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9ITCNjYGs3o?start=190\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lacock Abbey (Hogwarts)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/petehalewood\/7718153544\/\" title=\"Cloisters of the Abbey\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/7257\/7718153544_f962033531_b.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"697\" alt=\"Cloisters of the Abbey\"><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>The Abbey is perhaps the most iconic of all filming locations in Lacock.
