Political leaders throughout the ages, pioneering science and technology, a burgeoning artistic heritage &#8211; each of these alone is more than enough to put us on the map. It&#8217;s amazing to <a href=\"https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/has-london-always-been-the-capital-of-the-uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">live in a city with so much heritage<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, none of this means as much to us as seeing the capital used as a location in our favourite TV series. We can&#8217;t get enough of that I-walk-past-there-every-day feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Uncultured? Us? Psh. The series has run for over four decades, so there are far too many locations to mention. Our personal favourite, however, would be seeing the Daleks on <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/f1ohnJqAT6J2\">Westminster Bridge<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sherlock, Leinster Gardens<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sherlock wouldn&#8217;t be Sherlock if it didn&#8217;t feature the precocious pair dashing around London on their adventures. Our favourite scene is the one with the facade houses at <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/xwsTo4vvjE12\">23 &#8211; 24 Leinster Gardens<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/sherlok.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1241\" srcset=\"https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/sherlok.jpg 480w, https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/sherlok-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Downton Abbey, many locations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The stunning houses and vistas in Downton Abbey couldn&#8217;t have been filmed anywhere other than in the UK. Its London locations include The Criterion in Piccadilly, <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/dQubpmbKbkH2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Albert Memorial in Kensington Gardens<\/a>, and Euston Station. Outside London, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/tours\/day-tours-from-london\/blenheim-palace-downton-abbey-village-the-cotswolds\/?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=top_tv_show_locations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bampton<\/a>, the cute Cotswold village that served as the famous series&#8217; backdrop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Friends, Tower Bridge and beyond<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;Oh, but Friends is set in the USA!&#8217; I hear you cry. Well, yes, of course. But if you&#8217;re a fan of the show, you might remember a tiny plot point in the way of <em>Ross and Emily&#8217;s Wedding!<\/em> There&#8217;s a ton of London shots in here, including one of Tower Bridge and <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/tJuxRTfB6Bz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Marriott<\/a>. Emily&#8217;s church is actually St James&#8217; Church in Wapping.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"335\" src=\"https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/friends.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1243\" srcset=\"https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/friends.jpg 600w, https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/friends-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Black Mirror, Paddington and Hammersmith<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Charlie Brooker has been a staple of the British comedy scene for years, and fans are happy to see him break out to a global audience with this acerbic black comedy series. Shot throughout London, Black Mirror features the City of Westminster College in Paddington and the <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/5QMJ1KbfzHE2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hammersmith Apollo<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Original House of Cards, Westminster<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I bet you&#8217;re picturing Kevin Spacey&#8217;s wonderful performance right now in this modern classic White-House drama. But did you know that House of Cards was originally a British Show starring Ian Richardson? It&#8217;s filmed all over Westminster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Luther, everywhere in London<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t binge-watched Luther yet, then we highly recommend you begin immediately. This excellent British police drama stars Idris Elba as an obsessive, troubled detective. But, almost stealing the show is London itself, and Luther shows its seedy underbelly beautifully.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"446\" height=\"299\" src=\"https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/luther.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1244\" srcset=\"https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/luther.jpg 446w, https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/luther-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/luther-270x180.jpg 270w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 446px) 100vw, 446px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Peep Show, Croydon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe you haven&#8217;t heard of this one outside of the UK, but to Brits of a certain age, Peep Show was a behemoth on the comedy scene. Unlike its spiritual brother, The Office, the pilot for the U.S. remake was abysmal. In the UK version, our two unfortunate heroes played their parts out of a real flat in <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/3zyCYCem1AU2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zodiac Court, Croydon<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">EastEnders, Borehamwood<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>No TV show list would be complete without this classic of classics. EastEnders has been filmed on location in its titular London district for a generation. You won&#8217;t see Queen Victoria on the streets of Walford, though. That&#8217;s all studio magic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Simpsons, Westminster<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re cheating a little here, obviously. However, we couldn&#8217;t resist putting in this fantastic scene that was &#8216;filmed&#8217; on Constitution Hill around the Victoria Memorial. I&#8217;m fairly sure I&#8217;ve had this exact experience myself.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"387\" src=\"https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/simpsons.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1245\" srcset=\"https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/simpsons.jpg 620w, https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/simpsons-300x187.jpg 300w, https:\/\/evanevanstours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/simpsons-600x375.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>So that&#8217;s everything!
